Frequently Asked Questions:

How many guests can I invite/where can I get tickets? There is no limit to the number of guests you can invite to the REEES ceremony, and there are no tickets to be issued. Seating is first-come, first-serve. If you have a guest with accessibility needs or mobility issues, please contact the OCIAS office in 175 PLC or by calling 541-346-5051.

Can students participate in both the UO main ceremony and that for REEES? Yes! Students can participate in both ceremonies. The UO main ceremony is scheduled to end at 10:30 a.m., allowing students enough time to walk from the Matt Knight Arena to the venue.

Is regalia required? No, students do not have to purchase regalia, nor do they have to wear the traditional cap and gown to participate in our ceremony. However, the vast majority of students choose to do so.

I was given permission to walk; why am I not listed as a graduating senior in the program? The REEES commencement program lists all REEES students who will have completed their requirements between Summer 2019 and Spring 2020. Students who have permission to participate in our Spring commencement ceremony, and whose requirements will be completed during Summer 2020 or later, will be recognized individually as they walk across the stage to accept their diploma cover.

Does REEES offer a Summer Commencement Ceremony? The Department of International Studies does not hold a separate graduation ceremony during the summer. Any REEES major from the UO who will have completed their UO and REEES requirements between Summer 2019 and Spring 2020 can participate in the Spring 2020 ceremonies for the UO and REEES department.
