From REEES to Microsoft: A Profile of Marilyn Cole (BA, 2016)

Marilyn Cole wearing striped shirt standing in front of view with water in backgroundMarilyn Cole has had a truly exciting career since graduating from the UO with an undergraduate degree in REEES in 2016. After receiving a Master’s degree in International Studies /Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from the University of Washington, she became an International Student Advisor at UW, where she provided support for over 8,000 international students. She then took up a post as an Academic Program Manager in the UW Global Innovation Exchange Department working with graduate students in the Master of Science Technology Innovation Program. Just recently she accepted a position as a Community Program Manager with the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors Program. Marilyn writes: “I’m continuing to utilize the skills I gained through REEES by working with Microsoft Student Ambassadors from the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. I am truly proud of the path that has led me to where I am now and am positive that it would not have been possible without the foundation that REEES and the UO set for me.”
