REEES is thrilled to announce that this fall three recent MA graduates—Elena Leonenko (MA, 2021), Nadezhda Vikulina (MA, 2020), and Verena Zabel (MA, 2021)—embarked on prestigious doctoral programs in Slavic and Eurasian Studies in the U.S. and Europe. Lena entered the University of California-Berkeley, where she is pursuing interests in Russian modernism and visual culture. Nadia matriculated at Harvard University and is specializing in contemporary Russian and Polish poetry and photography. And Verena joined the University of Freiburg, where she is affiliated with a research group on empire that is supporting her work on Central Asian literature. Congratulations, Lena, Nadia, and Verena! We are very proud of you and look forward to following your academic careers.
